Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I train?
Fit Space trains groups in Centennial Park and the Domain.  Visit our locations page for the exact locations.  Personal training can take place almost anywhere in the Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and CBD.

I’m a beginner, can I still join group training?
Fit Space group training is suitable for all sorts of people.  We’ll give you gentler options for training while you build up your fitness.  And then we’ll provide more challenging options when you’re fitter than the rest of the group!

I get a lot of back pain, but I really want to get fit.  Can I join a group? Absolutely.  Our trainers are all very experienced, so they know all about the different training options to give you and how to work around your back pain.  Just make sure you tell us all about your injuries on the health appraisal we send you and get it back to us before your first session.

Is it Bootcamp?
Yes & no.  Fit Space is like bootcamp in the sense that we train groups of people outside.  However, we are proud to offer a calmer approach.  We have options to suit any level of participant, we will never force you to do something you don’t want to do and we don’t yell.  Our clients feel like they’re treated as individuals within the group.

How long do I have to join for?
The initial commitment is 10 weeks, which is long enough to make significant changes to both your body and your habits.  After 10 weeks, you can cancel at any time, just give us 2 weeks notice.

Will I get a good trainer?
Definitely.  All of our trainers have at least 5 years industry experience.  At Fit Space we are proud of our knowledgeable, approachable and fun personal trainers.

How many people are there in a group?
Groups are limited to 10 members, which is smaller than most other outdoor training groups.  We do this so that our trainers always have time to treat you as an individual.

How do I pay?
You can pay weekly, fortnightly, 4-weekly or monthly, whatever works best for you.  Payment is made by direct debit.  You can also pay in advance for your 10-week introduction.

Is it cheaper if I bring a friend?

If you choose to do personal training, you’ll save money by training with a friend.  If you choose to join group training, the amount you pay depends on how many sessions you do.

Do I have to pay if I don’t train?
We want you to get the results you’re looking for, so we hope to see you at all the sessions you’ve signed up for.  If you sleep in or work late, you won’t be refunded but you can make up for it by attending another session.

What’s better, personal training or group training?
This comes down to your goals and your budget.  Group training is more affordable and is a very social way to train.  Group training sessions incorporate a variety of training to keep everyone in the group fit, healthy & happy.  Personal training will cost you more and has the advantages of being designed specifically for you – everything you do in a session is a step towards your health & fitness goals.  Another advantage of personal training is that you can choose from several locations.

I really, really need to lose weight.  Do you help with diet too?
We are in the process of putting together a 10-week nutrition plan, watch this space!

Do you do running training?
Check out the other arm of our business at, where you’ll find personalised running plans, monthly group runs and information on running races.

I’ve heard about people training at work, do you do this?
Fit Space offers corporate fitness training.  We have a range of options that suit companies with ten to thousands of staff.  We’ll train you and your colleagues in a park near your office once, twice or three times a week.  We can also do training events for conferences and have speakers available for health, fitness & diet presentations.  Contact us to talk about exactly what you’re looking for.

If you’re going to miss training for 2 weeks or more, you can put your membership on hold.

What happens in bad weather
Training is only cancelled in EXTREME weather conditions.  If you haven’t heard from your trainer 1 hour before training commences, they’ll be there.  If training does need to be cancelled, group training clients can attend any other group session to make up for this, personal training clients can book a make-up session.
